Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has concluded a successful tour to four Latin American countries including Ecuador, Peru, Paraguay and Argentina.
The tour came following H H the Amir’s speech delivered during the 73rd session of UN General Assembly. Although the tour is not the first but has reflected huge aspiration for creation a comprehensive and diverse range of relations with different countries. H H the Amir and leaders of these states discussed ways of enhancing cooperation along regional and international issues.
Qatar’s position regarding global issues was lauded and aspirations to build solid ties was materialised by inking a number of MoUs and agreements covering the fields of economy, trade, environment, youth, sports, education, scientific researches, agriculture, livestock and fisheries.
H H the Amir stressed that Qatar is experiencing regional challenges but at the same time has become stronger thanks to Allah’s grace, steadfastness of the community and friends. H H the Amir used similar phrase at the beginning of the current Gulf crisis saying, “every cloud has a silver lining”.
Qatar’s international relations have no border and everyone became familiar with Qatar’s stances which rooted in our authentic convictions, true religion and our genuine Arabic ethics. Our stances are not originated for others’ dictations or desires which did not take into account the future of the region or its people.
Qatar’s diplomacy has built global cooperation network within the period of the siege reflecting the creditability of Qatar and its distinguished position in the international community despite the hopeless attempt of the siege countries to tarnish its image as their accusations remain baseless. Qatar has become a model among countries of the world, and “we are thousand times better without them”.
Day after day, number of counties supporting Qatar’s position has increased and haziness and doubt of some countries' positions are over. World is changing constantly and there is no excuse for countries oppressing freedoms.
Diversifying ties with world creates many alternatives in such situation, and Qatar’s relations today have expanded to cover all countries in the continents and different areas. Amir’s tour to Latin America resulted in welcoming Qatar’s participation in Copa America 2019, making Qatar the first Arab state obtaining the honour of participating in this championship. This success is addition to the friendship that Qatar enjoys with world countries.
