The countdown to the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar has begun and attention of the world has now turned to Doha, after Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani officially received the mantle of hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar from President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, in the presence of President of International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) Gianni Infantino, in a ceremony held in the Kremlin Palace, yesterday.
This success has not come from a vacuum but from the spirit and determination of our young leadership and talents of the youth of Qatar. The great challenges were not an impediment to the country’s determination, which is not tireless and there is no word called impossible in its dictionary.
As this achievement is confirmed by H H the Amir that the world cup 2022 will be for all Arabs and they will be proud of.
The hosting will be of great appreciation for Qatar’s successes in all fields in particular sports, as Doha stressed on several occasions its ability and strength to organise such international events in a manner that matches what the world’s aspires to see, a sporting event of international standards with a wonderful Qatari touches.
As part of the efforts to prepare for this global event, Qatar has been working at all levels for years to implement the requirements. It is also working to train and rehabilitate its human power, as well as to benefit from the experiences of countries that have organised the World Cup earlier, including Russia.
In this regard, a Majlis of Qatar was organised in conjunction with the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Qatar is keen to take part in the event and to inform the world that the torch has moved to Doha, which has begun to attract attention from all over the world towards a mega sports event in 2022.
Despite challenges facing the region, Qatar will remain an oasis of peace and security and will not pay attention to what some countries questioning its ability to organise such international sporting events. We have proved to the world that Qatar is capable of organising world’s most important sporting event, including the World Cup. Qatar will always be at the forefront and among the developed countries and an oasis of peace, love and brotherhood among the people of the world. The 2022 World Cup will be a beautiful story for generations.
