As usual, the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani spoke with confidence and pride and on high moral grounds. The words of His Highness moved the honourable people who love his leadership; the leader too loved them more by maintaining their position high among nations.

We became very proud in front of other countries that we are from Qatar, a small country geographically, but a very big country in its positions, magnanimity and self-respect.

The Emir made a comprehensive speech to residents about the current situation and the future directions of the State of Qatar in light of the unjust siege imposed by brother countries in the GCC and appreciated people’s handling of the crisis.

The Emir stressed that Qatar, since the beginning of the crisis, has been ready and open for dialogue as long as Qatar’s sovereignty is respected and is not dictated to.

In Qatar, we don’t accept these dictations because we are a country with sovereignty and our decisions are in our own hands and we are not waiting for anyone to tell us what should be done.

It’s worth remembering in this regard what the Emir said when he took the reins of power: “We are people who are committed to our principles and our values. We do not live on the margins of life, and we do not aimlessly wander without a destination and we are not followers of anyone from whom we receive guidance.”

And this is what the Emir summarised yesterday in his speech when he described the current situation and its reasons and how Qatar is dealing with it.

His Highness appreciated the moral position of Qataris and the respectful way of dealing with the crisis and asked them to continue this approach.

Although the speech was on the blockade on Qatar, he also didn’t forget the issue of Aqsa mosque, and stressed the Qatar stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people, especially people in Aqsa and he condemned its closure.

I stress again that we have a leader like him who is making these countries feel envious. His first concern is about his people and how to raise their position. It pained the siege countries to see the solidarity between the people and their leader.

We as people know that we are in the heart of our Emir and he is taking care of our rights. Congratulations to Emir. May God save him from all envious eyes. Continue marching, we listen and we obey.
