We were not surprised by the result of our team beating the UAE with 4-0. Since the beginning of the tournament “Al Annabi” showed outstanding performances and full technical readiness enabled the team to overcome over the opposite teams one after the other, keeping their net clean from any goal.
This time in the UAE capital! The most remarkable thing this time in regard to the AFC Asian Cup 2019, which is being hosted in UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi, is what could be said about the Qatari team is an excellent team in terms of play, technically and ethically. As is well known, football is a popular game, so sports ethics remain the most beautiful aspect of a competition, not the quarrels.
In light of all misconducts faced by our national team during the match which were immoral, but our ethics always remain on top and we deal with everyone according to it. At the same time, we are facing enmity from neighbouring countries which are seeking to rob the joys of sporting events and put them in the scenes of abhorrent politics, unfairly accusing Qatar for no reason.
The media hate discourse, with great regret, which was the biggest fall during the tournament and its coverage by the siege countries, in attempt to fuel the divisions and social differences between the people of the region. Despite all this, we have to shudder in front of everything happening around us and insults and abuse that we have faced, because the Qatari’s moral position is always above all and we leave the immoral acts for them in most international events and in all sporting, political and social events.
Qatar today is moving steadily to embrace the 2022 World Cup, which is the biggest concern for these countries. These successive successes and leaps have not come from a vacuum, but from the hard work of planning, creativity and systematic implementation for years. This starts from the top of the hierarchy of power, where is Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
I may not be a good sports analyst to talk about the green rectangle, but what the Al Annabi has done to UAE, which is 4-0 was great and the team was able to double the result because of the great potential and performance whether technical management or play.
All this happened while Qatari fans, media and others were prevented from attending the games, at the time the UAE tried its best by encouraging its nationals to support their national team as if they were in a war. But Al Annabi gave them a lesson in of football and high sporting ethics, which is basically the values in which we have been brought up as Qatari society.
Planning, will, optimism and working hard in all fields looking towards the future and under all kinds of pressures is the real weapon that lead to excellence and innovation. This is what we have learned in our beloved country Qatar to face all possibilities with strength and determination and the best proof of this is the unjust siege. Under the siege, we have re-directed the compass and our perseverance and victory with strong national cohesion between leadership and an ambitious people inspiring to the future without kneeling down before anyone except Allah.
