Doha: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani inaugurated Monday the newly renovated Dar Al Kutub Al Qatariya, following its comprehensive restoration and maintenance.
Minister of Culture HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani attended the inauguration ceremony, along with a number of Their Excellencies and senior state officials.
The inauguration ceremony featured an exhibition titled "Qatari Publishing Houses," and a showcase inside the building displaying rare books and manuscripts, in addition to other books documenting the history of Dar Al Kutub Al Qatariya.
Dar Al Kutub Al Qatariya is the oldest national library in the Gulf states. Its inauguration came after the completion of a meticulous restoration process that preserved its historical character while integrating modern technological updates, reflecting the keenness to preserve the cultural and intellectual heritage of the State of Qatar.
