Doha: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs on Saturday announced the commencement of the testing phase for both male and female young people with the participation of citizens and residents to memorize one part from the last five sections of the holy Qur'an, as part of the Sheikh Jassim bin Muhammad bin Thani Noble Qur'an Competition.

The Ministry highlighted that the Imam Muhammad ibn Abd Al Wahhab Mosque will host the male tests for both citizens and residents starting at 3:30 p.m. after Asr prayer, stating that tests for residents will continue until March 8, while the tests for male citizens will start from next week, on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

The organizing committee announced that the female tests for residents will commence on Sunday at the Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance in Al-Wab, starting at 7:15 p.m. for five days, while the tests for female citizens will take place next week, on March 8 and 9.

The committee emphasized that all female test committees are comprised of skilled female judges proficient in the memorization of the holy Qur'an, while the male test committees are spearheaded by a contingent of Qatari youth.

Several years ago, the organizing committee implemented an electronic system for the judging process in the competition's test committees.
