Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announced that a temporary diversion will be in place on a section of Mesaieed Road in the direction from Doha to Mesaieed. The 800-meter section of the road which will be closed starts after the local access to the family beach in Al Wakra Municipality and will be implemented in coordination with the Traffic Department. The diversion will start on Friday, February 5, 2016 and will last one and a half years.

During this period, traffic will be diverted to the existing diversion with the same number of lanes as shown in the attached map. Public Works Authority had implemented a diversion on the opposite lane in the direction from Mesaieed toward Doha on January 15, 2016 to allow for the construction of a new interchange as part of the construction of Al Wakra Bypass Road project.

The speed limit will also be lowered from 80 kph to 50 kph throughout the diversion, to ensure the safety of motorists and project workers.
