As the world celebrates International Environment Day on June 5th, SEASHORE proudly stands as an illuminant of sustainability stewardship, leading the change in waste recycling, segregation, sustainability awareness and innovative CSR initiatives in the State of Qatar. Dedicated to support Qatar National Vision 2030, conserving and safeguarding the precious resources of the country, SEASHORE will continue to make significant efforts for a cleaner and greener future.
Recycling Excellence
In a rapidly growing country like Qatar, managing waste, its segregation and recycling are the greatest focuses for the government. SEASHORE has risen to the challenge of waste handling by setting up state of art recycling factories for different waste streams including SEASHORE Steel Factory for steel recycling, Volta Battery recycling Factory for lead acid battery recycling, SEASHORE Plastic Factory for plastic recycling and Al Wajba Alloys factory for Aluminum recycling, copper recycling and electronic waste recycling. The factories reduce a significant amount of waste from being diverted to landfill and minimizes the environmental impact. With our collaboration with local communities, businesses, manufacturing companies, and government institutions we have been able to contribute to increasing waste recycling percentage within Qatar.
Sustainability Awareness
Education and awareness are at the core of SEASHORE ’s Mission. The SEASHORE Green Island is Qatar’s first recycling hub located at the Education City, Qatar Foundation, which is made using end-of-life shipping containers. The Green Island will be soon open for the public and aims at raising awareness on recycling and sustainability practices. The SEASHORE Green Island consists of recycling drop off points for six recyclable waste streams and also will have educational and interactive spaces to learn about recycling. By empowering individuals with the right knowledge and resources, SEASHORE aims at fostering the culture of environmental responsibility and positive impacts among the diverse communities in Qatar.
Innovative Initiatives
SEASHORE is at the forefront to think about out of the box initiatives in order to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable practices. Initiatives like the “SEASHORE Green School Award” in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Qatar, is a competition which to establish the principle of sustainability and promote the importance of preserving environmental resources among school students. It strengthens the relationship between education and awareness of best sustainability and environmental practices seeking to build a conscious generation capable of facing the future climate change challenges.
Community Engagement
At the heart of SEASHORE ’s success is its community engagement. By establishing strong partnerships with local stakeholders, including residents, schools, businesses and government entities, SEASHORE has built a strong network of support for its sustainability efforts. The “Qatar Smiles with SEASHORE” campaign in collaboration with Qatar Museums collected around four tons of waste across various coasts of Qatar with the help of thirteen different organizations and five hundred plus volunteers. SEASHORE has been regularly supporting and awarding sustainability ambassadors across Qatar who have been contributing towards combating the environmental issues. Through various other collaborative projects, volunteering opportunities and public events, SEASHORE has been able to harness the power of collective action to create a cleaner, and healthier environment for all.
On World Environment Day and beyond, SEASHORE remains committed to its mission of environmental conservation and sustainability. By continuing to innovate, educate, and engage, SEASHORE strives to lead by example and inspire positive change throughout Qatar and beyond. Together, we can build a future where waste is minimized, resources are preserved, and the beauty of Qatar's natural landscapes is cherished for generations to come.
