With COVID-19 cases rising daily, Qatar National Library (QNL) decided that all visits to the library, starting from yesterday and onwards will be by appointment only. Only vaccinated individuals will be allowed to visit the QNL.
Slots for visits are from 10am to 12.30pm and 1pm to 4m, Sat-urday to Thursday.
It is closed on Fridays. The Children’s Library is also closed for family visits until further notice.
However, parents can come in to borrow books from it.The library’s online resources will meanwhile remain accessible 24/7. This includes eBooks, articles, eMag-azines, eNewspapers, Qatar Digital Library and Digital Repository.
Its events and workshops will continue to be offered online until further notice. However, public group tours are not available until further notice.For the Heritage Library materials, these are accessible primarily by requesting a digital copy via email heritagelibrary@qnl.qa.
The Heritage Reading Room is also available to users for selected heritage and reference materials and requests are processed on a case-by-case basis.
Visitors will have to fill out a form and meet a certain criteria to make an appointment.
They must have full vaccination status, have a green status on the Ehteraz app, wear a face mask at all times and provide confirmation for their slot booking.
Upon entering the library, one must observe social distancing guidelines at all times.
Following the Ministry of Public Health’s regulations, everyone over age 12 must wear a mask at all times, and only people with a green status on the Ehteraz app will be allowed access and people over the age of 60 will be allowed into the Library only if they have the gold frame on their Ehteraz app.
