DOHA: Kuwaiti Honda rider Abdulla Al Shatti won both of his races yesterday to be crowned the championship winner in the E1 category as the first Qatar International Enduro drew to a close.
Al Shatti accumulated a score of 234 points in the event organised by Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation at Sealine.
Moaz Al Ansari finished second, with 210 points and Mubarak Al Ali from UAE riding a KTM ended in third position with 192 points.
French rider Yannic Le Gourvenec, won the E2 championship.
The 212 points he got throughout the season were enough to beat the UAE rider Mohammed Al Balooshi, who ended with 180 points.
Al Balooshi, riding a KTM bike, crossed the checkered flag in first position in both races, being the fastest rider of the day.
The third place went to Saeed Al Shenati from UAE.
In the E3 category, Khalid Kamis, Saif Al Kumiti and Anwar Al Nuami were the top three riders in their category.
Meanwhile, in the quads category, Obaid Al Kitbe triumphed with a Honda quad. The UAE rider got 207 points, winning both races in the quads category. Mohammed Al Shamsi and Abdulla Nasser finished in second and third positions respectively.
In this last round, a total of 31 riders from different nationalities joined this event, which included participants were from Australia, France, Great Britain, Germany, Kuwait, UAE and Qatar.
As in the previous rounds, the layout of the track was different, making the championship more challenging and exciting for all the participants.
In this fourth round, the length was 6.1km track with several up-hills anddown hills.
Nasser bin Khalifa Al Attiyah, QMMF President thanked Omar Alfardan for his support in this first Qatar International Enduro Championship. Alfardan Motorcycles collaborated in the prize ceremony and gave technical support to KTM riders.
Today, the new season for Qatar International Enduro will start at the same place at Sealine, together with the new championship, QMMF T3 Challenge.
The first race is scheduled to begin at 10.00am.
