Doha: The first round of the Qatar International Jet Ski Championship organised by Qatar Marine Sports Federation (QMSF) will take place today and tomorrow at Wakra Port.
Around thirty- two riders will be competing in three-leg championship, the first round which begins with the official practice today at 2.20pm.
The next two rounds will take place on November 2 and 3, while the third and conducing round will take place on November 16 and 17. The championship will take place in four categories Ski Stock (Ski Division F1), Runabout Stock, Runabout Stock (Beginner class) and Runabout Super Stock (Runabout F1).
Besides the local competitors, riders from Saudi Arabia, Oman Kuwait, Palestine and UAE will compete for the top prize.
The winner in the Runabout Super Stock will get QR24,000 and the runners-up QR18,000 while the third place bags QR15,000. The winner in the Ski Stock category will get QR12,000
