DOHA: Around 1,360 Qatar citizens and residents took part in the inaugural Dolphin Energy Doha Dash at Losail International Circuit yesterday.
Supported by spectators from across Doha, the participants competed in four categories including a 5km and 3km race, a 1km Mini Doha Dash and a 1km ladies’ walk.
Hollie Jenkins, with a time of 21 minutes and 52 seconds, and Chamada Gadissa, with a time of 16 minutes and 38 seconds, were crowned champions of the 5km race - a full lap around the International Circuit.
Dusty Spates and Jessica Singer took first place in the 3km race and Rossin Browne and Mohammed Anas-Kv won the 1km Mini Doha Dash.
Adel Ahmed Albuainain, General Manager, Dolphin Energy, Qatar said: “This event has allowed us to strengthen our community outreach commitments and reemphasise the importance of health and fitness to all our stakeholders – residents and citizens of Qatar, our partners and our colleagues.”
