Doha: HE Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning inaugurated the government services complex in Al-Rayyan Municipality recently.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by HE Dr Issa bin Saad Al-Juffali Al-Nuaimi, Minister of Administrative Development; Mohammed Thani Al-Madhahka, Brigadier engineer, Director of Building Affairs and Department of the General Directorate for Logistics of the Ministry of Interior, and number of senior officials.
The ministers inspected the complex sections and service counters, including the sections allotted to ladies, senior citizens and those with special needs.
In his remarks to reporters, Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Khalifa Al-Thani stated that the complex was built to facilitate the processing of the applications of both citizens and expatriates.
In response to an enquiry about deputing some of the Ministry of Municipality staff for studying technical disciplines at foreign universities, he emphasized that the deputation of professional staff members is a very ambitious plan, as large number of the holders of secondary school certificates would avail the opportunity to be enrolled in foreign or local universities, in order to fill the leading professional vacancies.
Speaking to the journalists, Dr Issa bin Saad Al-Juffali Al-Nuaimi confirmed that Al-Rayyan Services Complex is the eighth complex of its kind, which was established to provide better means for the applicants. The services complex consists of seven service authorities, offering a daily average of 4,000 service applications.
Pointing out that, there are 40 help desk counters with staff trained for two months prior to assuming their position.
He added that early 2016 will witness the opening of the complex services in the northern area, which will be the ninth compound at the state level, adding that all complexes are working in two shifts, from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm with the exception of "Al-Zubara" and "Al-Shahhaniya" Services Complex, which are limited to morning shift owing to the limited number of applicants.
