Sheikh Thani receives Lifetime Achievement award

DOHA: Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah bin Thani Al Thani, a well-known businessman, was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by Ernst & Young yesterday.

The Minister of Economy and Finance H E Yousuf Hussein Kamal gave away the award at Ernst & Young’s   ‘Growing Beyond Summit 2012’ at the Ritz-Carlton.

Mark Otty, Managing Partner, Ernst & Young Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA) and other senior officials from the company were present on the occasion. The award was in recognition of Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani’s contributions to the industry and economy in Qatar. 

“I am pleased to receive this award from Ernst & Young. Ezdan will continue with its development initiatives in the real estate sector and support the Qatari and GCC communities,” Sheikh Thani said.

Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani is known for his unparalleled contributions in fields such as real estate, banking and Islamic insurance in the region. 

He launched several key ventures in these sectors and played a pioneering role in inspiring private companies to be listed on the Qatari bourse (Qatar Exchange) by making some of his key businesses listed.
