Doha: Qatar Airways employees yesterday celebrated Qatar National Day at the company headquarters in Doha.
Nationals demonstrated Qatari authentic hospitality and traditions among their colleagues by distributing gifts, Qatari scarves and traditional cakes.
The national airline also joined the Ministry of Transport in celebrating National Day at their majlis tent in the Ministry Park, where local Qatari activities took place to mark the occasion such as the national ardah dance, traditional games and food tasting. Visitors learned more about the history and traditions of Qatar with some local craftsmen, camels and falcons that were on display.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said: “Pride in Qatar is one of the core values at Qatar Airways. We are very proud of our Qatari identity, and it is a pleasure to celebrate Qatar National Day with our staff, and showcase our hospitality and culture jointly with the Ministry of Transport team.”
Qatar Airways will bring the celebration to social media as well, by posting a video of select staff member expressing in one word what Qatar means to them. The video will be available tomorrow on Qatar Airways dedicated Arabic twitter account @qatarairwaysar.
