DOHA: The Qatar Financial Centre Authority (QFCA) bagged the “Best Financial Centre in the Middle East” Award for the second year running by Global Investor magazine.
Shashank Srivastava, CEO of the QFC Authority, said: “We are extremely proud to be recognised as the best financial centre in the Middle East by such a highly regarded industry publication. Winning this award for a second year in succession is welcome recognition of the progress we are continuing to make in building a world class financial centre and the leading platform to capitalise on the emerging opportunities in the Middle East. ”
He added: “Credit is very much due to the State of Qatar’s far-sighted National Vision 2030 and its policy of diversification towards a knowledge-based economy, enriching Qatar’s human capital and improving its competitiveness, domestically, regionally and internationally.”
This year’s awards reception was held in conjunction with the Global Investor – Middle East Capital Markets Summit yesterday in Doha.
