Doha, Qatar: The Qatar U-23 national football team will kick off their international friendly tournament against Egypt at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium today.
Croatia, Thailand, Australia and the United Arab Emirates are also taking part in the event.
The tournament, running until March 25, promises thrilling international football action.
In addition to Qatar’s match, the tournament will also see Croatia take on Australia at Thani bin Jassim Stadium, while the UAE will face Thailand at Saud bin Abdulrahman Stadium in Al Wakrah.
These fixtures are set to offer fans a dynamic blend of talent from across the globe.
The Qatari team has been preparing for this tournament with a focused internal training camp that began on March 12.
During this camp, the coaching staff has emphasized the importance of these friendly matches as part of the team’s overall preparation for the AFC U-23 Championship qualifiers, scheduled for September 2025.
Portuguese head coach Elidio Vale unveiled the roster for the tournament.
The players selected include talented young athletes from top Qatari clubs, such as Jassim Al Sharshani, Mohammed Al Ishaq, Nour El-Din Ibrahim, and Marwan Sharif, among others.
