Doha, Qatar: The Sheikh Abdulla bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs organised an educational lecture in English in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education at Katara Cultural Village. The lecture was attended by 1,400 students from various educational institutions across the country.

Director of the Sheikh Abdulla bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center Dr. Saleh Ali Al Akhn Al Marri stated that the center seeks to spread Islamic values through educational activities and Ramadan lectures in cooperation with various educational institutions, praising the role of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in facilitating this lecture and providing the opportunity to reach the target audience.

He noted the success of the joint activities, including the Arabic Calligraphy Competition for Students, held on the sidelines of the Qatar International Arabic Calligraphy Competition ‘Al-Raqim’, reflecting the center’s commitment to strengthening communication and cooperation with various entities to serve Islamic and educational values in society.

During his lecture, prominent scholar Ismail Menk emphasised the importance of instilling Islamic values in the hearts of children and youth by adhering to Islamic commandments and obligations, most notably performing prayers and fasting, as these are among the most important acts of worship that reinforce a Muslim’s moral and behavioural values.

He also urged students to seize the opportunity of the holy month of Ramadan by honouring Islamic rituals, adhering to good morals and etiquette, and devoting themselves to reciting the Holy Quran, as it is the fundamental compass for a Muslim in his life.
