DOHA: Australia’s Alex Cudlin will launch his title defence at round one of the Qatar International Road Racing Championship (QIRRC) which kicks off tomorrow.
The seven-leg series will kick-off with warm-ups and qualifying to be held today at Losail International Circuit.
A total of 33 riders have registered including the defendant champion Cudlin will try to get the title for third time in a row.
This championship has attracted more riders compared to last year’s championship.
Germany’s Nina Prinz - the only female rider - will also join this championship and will try to improve her fourth position in the last championship.
The first round of the cars championship will be held on January 11 and 12, Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) said.
Qatari riders Saeed Al Sulaiti, Nasser Al Malki, Abdulrehman Al Mannai, Ahmed Adel Al Naimi, Rayad Al Emadi, Sultan Al Kuwari, Abdulla Khalid Al Muraikhi, Mashel Al Naimi, Fahid Al Sowaidi, Fawaz Ahmed Al Hichan and Khalid Al Remaihi will also be seen during this week’s action. Riders from Britain, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE,, India and Lithuania will also take part in the first round. THE PENINSULA
