Doha: Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) signed a grant agreement with Qatar Charity (QC) to provide $11.9m for the construction of houses and villages for flood-affected families in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The initiative, which will span 18 months, aims to provide safe and durable housing for the affected communities supporting their recovery.

This initiative is part of Qatar’s broader humanitarian commitment, aligning with the $25m pledge made in 2023 to support Pakistan’s flood recovery efforts. Through this agreement, QFFD and QC will work together. QC will ensure that communities affected by the floods have access to secure housing, allowing them to rebuild their lives and empower them with the means to withstand from future calamities, ensuring long-term stability and resilience.

Deputy Director General of Development Projects Sector Nouf Al Kaabi said, “This agreement reflects Qatar’s steadfast commitment to humanitarian assistance and sustainable recovery.
