DOHA: The Group-20 competition of ‘Hudadud Tahaddi’ (part of a month-long falconry competition which has been going on) was held here yesterday.
The second international conference for falcons’ veterinary is beginning today at the Cultural Village of Katara. A three-day event is being organized by Qatar Society of Al Qannas and Katara on the sideline of falcon festival-2016.
The local Al Daw competition will take place today in which a total 50 falcons (10 Farkh Hur, 20 Qarnas Shahin and 20 Qarnas Hur) will be taking part.
The last Group-21 will take part in Hudadud Tahaddi competition in which 36 participants will try their luck. The final match of Hudadud Tahaddi will be here on Friday.
The competitions are being held in a smooth way. No violations of competition rules have been recorded so far, said Ali Sultan Al Hamidi, head of the Hudaud Tahaddi competition. Al Hamidi said: “We are attaching so much importance to participants of the competition and have made competition rules flexible”.
A participant said that the win in a competition is not important at all. “What is important is that our falcons are taking part in the events,” said Mohamed Talib Al Munakhkhiss.
