First K-Pop festival in Qatar to take place in April

Doha: Huge excitement is in the air as the first K-Pop festival in Qatar is set to happen in April. 

Named as the 'K.One Festa Qatar 2023', K-pop fans in the country will get the chance to meet multiple artists and experience Korean culture.

Announced by k.onefesta on Instagram, it stated: "K.ONE FESTA QATAR 2023 will be with many K-POP artists that the whole world love!" 

The event is slated to happen on April 28-29, 2023 at Lusail Multipurpose Hall. Details about the tickets for the event will be announced in March. 

Although there has been no official announcement on the line-up of artists for 'K.One Festa Qatar 2023', fans were quick to place their guesses on who will be performing at the event. 

Girl groups and boy groups are among the top guesses by fans in Qatar. Top girl group choices by K-Pop fans are New Jeans, Le Sserafim, Itzy, Twice, and Blackpink. 

Some are also hoping for boy groups such as Tomorrow X Together, Enhypen, Monsta X, Ateez, and Stray Kids to make an appearance. 

Meanwhile, some just wish for BTS' Jungkook to come back to the country after his 'Dreamers' performance during the FIFA World Cup. 

As the 'Hallyu Wave' continues its world domination, Qatar is also home to a diverse number of K-Pop fandoms with local fanbases for a number of K-Pop groups are hosting events and celebrations for fans. 

The latest said event will give different K-Pop fandoms a chance to celebrate together in the first K-Pop music festival in Qatar.

Speaking to The Peninsula ahead of the announcement, QU Korean Club, affirmed that the festival has been a longed-for event to happen in the country. 

"It would be unbelievable for the fans in the beginning since they never expected such a concert would happen," said QU Korean Club's officials, Nour and Reem. 

"However, the moment of realization will make them super enthusiastic to count the days until they witness their beloved artists performing on the stage in front of them."

"Every K-pop fan has been waiting for this once in a lifetime opportunity," they added.
