Doha, Qatar: As the Eid Al-Fitr travel period approaches, Hamad International Airport (DOH) is fully prepared to facilitate a seamless travel experience for departing and arriving passengers to meet the expected increase in travel traffic during this period. With meticulous planning and enhanced services and facilities, Hamad International Airport aims to ensure that passengers' journey during this festive season is smooth and enjoyable.

Travel tips for a smooth journey:

    1. Early Check-In:
    • Save time by checking in online and arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before your flight. Check with your airline for online check-in options to streamline your journey.
    • Qatar Airways offers early check-in for economy passengers from 12 to 4 hours before departure, until April 5, 23:59H, excluding US and Canada flights. QR Passengers using early check-in get a 10% discount at Qatar Duty Free stores.

    2. Self-Service Facilities:
    • Self-Check-In & Bag-Drop: Utilize our self-service kiosks to check-in, print boarding passes, and tag your bags. Drop them off at the bag-drop counters before proceeding to border control.
    • E-Gates: Citizens and residents above the age of 18 can expedite the immigration process using e-gates (restrictions apply). Minimum height to use the E-Gates is 130cm.

   3.  Baggage Guidelines:
    • Passengers are reminded that baggage allowances and weight restrictions will be strictly enforced by airlines. Check with your airline for specific guidelines. Non-standard or oversized luggage is discouraged. A baggage repack area is available in the departure hall with luggage weighing machines to assist passengers.

    4. Parking:
    • Use the dedicated parking facilities for quick drop-offs, pick-ups, and short stays. Avoid leaving vehicles unattended at the curbside.
    • Enjoy special discounted rates for long stays in our car park (using the pre-book option only), ensuring proximity to the terminal.
    • Car rental and limousine services are all located close to the arrival hall.
    • Valet Parking: For the ultimate convenience, drop off your vehicle with our valet service available at Departures.

    5. Security Checks:
    • Prohibited Items: Ensure no prohibited items like liquids, aerosols, and gels are in your carry-on. Pack liquids in 100ml containers within a clear, resealable bag.
    • Electronic Devices: Remove electronics larger than a mobile phone for X-ray screening.
    • Lithium Battery Restrictions: Small vehicles powered by lithium batteries, such as hoverboards, are not allowed.

    6. Stay Connected:
    • Download the HIAQatar App: Get real-time updates on flight status, baggage claim, and directions to boarding gates. Enjoy food, beverage, and retail offers from Qatar Duty Free (QDF).
    • Digital Wayfinding: Use QR Codes at various digital touchpoints for easy navigation around the terminal.

For passengers in need of assistance, HIA encourages all to approach any staff. Hamad International Airport is dedicated to ensuring a seamless Eid travel period, enabling passengers to create memorable moments with their loved ones.
