Doha, Qatar: Qatar drew 2-2 with Australia at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium yesterday, concluding the U-23 International Friendly Football Tournament in second place behind winners Croatia.
Jassim Al Sharshani scored for Qatar from the penalty spot, while Mohammed Joda added a goal in the 76th minute and another in stoppage time (90+2). Matthew Grimaldi and Aidan Simmons scored for Australia in the 7th and 88th minutes, respectively.
Qatar finished with 5 points, securing second place in the overall standings, while Australia also ended with 5 points but placed third on goal difference.
The tournament also featured Egypt, Thailand and the UAE.
