The men’s and women’s teams of German giants Bayern Munich will return to Doha for their winter training camps which will take place at the Aspire Zone.
This will be Bayern Munich’s 10th annual winter training camp in Doha.
The Bundesliga champions, coached by Hansi Flick, will arrive in Qatar on January 4 and undergo training at the Aspire training pitches until January 10 as they gear up for the challenges in the German domestic league, DFB Cup and the UEFA Champions League.
Following the annual winter training camp in Doha, the 29-time Bundesliga winners will play their first match in the second half of the League campaign against Hertha BSC in Berlin on January 19, 2020. Ahead of that match, FC Bayern will play a friendly match against FC Nürnberg on January 11.
Meanwhile, the Bayern Munich’s women’s team will reach Doha on January 20 and spend a week at the Aspire training camp.
Their first game of 2020 will be away at Leverkusen in February.
Ajax, the current leaders in the Eredivisie, the top tier in Dutch football, will also return to Qatar for a nine-day winter training camp that includes two friendly matches. The squad will arrive in Doha on January 4 before returning to the Netherlands on January 12.
Doha has established itself as a popular winter destination among top international teams over the past few years and the players have been enjoying the world class facilities at Aspire Zone.
Teams from Europe, including French champions Paris Saint German, Ajax and 15-time Belgian League champions, Club Brugge have made Qatar a regular stop in their winter training programmes, taking the benefit from the ideal weather conditions in Qatar as they prepare for crucial matches just after the winter break.
During the winter training camps, fans will get the rare opportunity to watch their heroes play from just a few feet away. The winter training camps of top teams in Doha have attracted thousands of football fans from Qatar and abroad over the years.
