Doha: Ooredoo has expanded the award-winning Ooredoo Mobile Money service so that customers can now purchase Data Recharges and Ooredoo Passports using the Mobile Wallet feature via the Ooredoo Money App or the USSD *140# menu.
Customers who purchase Ooredoo Data Recharge using the Mobile Money service will receive 25 percent extra data as bonus.
The extra data will be added automatically and customers can purchase top-ups ranging from QR20 (250MB), QR60 (1GB), QR80 (3GB), QR100 (6GB) to QR200 (15GB) using Mobile Money. Data will be valid for 30 days from activation.
Ooredoo Mobile Money customers can also purchase Ooredoo Passport services using Mobile Money, saving time and providing extra convenience for people on the go.
The Ooredoo Passport offers roaming customers 1GB of data and 100 SMS/minutes for QR100 per week, with customers using the Passport in the GCC receiving 2GB data for the same price.
The upgrade to Ooredoo Mobile Money is the latest enhancement to the service, which is becoming the most popular cashless payment method in Qatar. The service enables customers to transfer money to over 200 counties, top up Hala accounts (with 10 percent extra recharge bonus), pay Ooredoo bills and send money locally to another mobile.
Plans are in place to make the majority of Ooredoo’s comprehensive portfolio of services available via Ooredoo Mobile Money, as the company strives to bring the latest smart payment services to Qatar. Customers can register for Mobile Money for free with a valid Qatar ID at any Ooredoo shop, by dialling *140#, or downloading the free Ooredoo Money App on their mobile and following simple on-screen registration instructions.
Once registered, customers can cash in money for free in their mobile wallet using any of over 200 Ooredoo self-service machines throughout Qatar. Deposits can also be made through Ooredoo shops or direct transfer from any QNB account through QNB Mobile Payment service.
