Qatar fully behind Arab anti-corruption efforts, official says

Cairo: HE the Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority Saad bin Ibrahim Al-Mahmoud said that the State of Qatar is fully behind all Arab and International efforts that enhance the rule of law and fight corruption. 
Al-Mahoud was speaking in Cairo at the first Conference of States Parties to Arab Convention Against Corruption, which opened today at the Arab League Headquarters under the chairmanship of Kuwaiti Minister of Justice and Minister and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaqoub Al-Sanea. 
HE the Chairman of Administrative Control Authority said that the State of Qatar has passed many legislations that combat corruption through enhancing transparency. This was one of the main reasons behind Qatar's high ranking internationally in the field, HE Al-Mahmoud said adding that hosting the Thirteenth United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice back in April is another demonstration of Qatar's commitment to the cause. 
He praised today's conference and called on Arab countries to work together on eliminating corruption and enhancing transparency. He expressed his hope that the sessions would yield a clear mechanism of how to implement the agreement and also called on the Arab countries which have not yet joined the convention to sign it to enhance the Arab World's efforts of combating corruption.
