CASL holds Premier League cricket tournament

DOHA: The Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka – Qatar Chapter (CASL), affiliated to the Sri Lankan embassy, organised the sixth edition of the CASL Qatar Premier League cricket tournament earlier this month at MIC Cricket Ground, Qatar Petroleum, in Mesaieed. 
It was one of the best cricket tournaments for its competitive and exciting brand of the game played by Sri Lankan chartered accountants in Qatar. Eight teams participated in two pools of four teams each. The top two teams of each pool qualified for semifinals. 
Beating their opponents Smashers and Doha Tuskers went through to the grand finale. 
The final was held under lights and Doha Tuskers beat Smashers by 22 runs to clinch the trophy.
The tournament started at 7am under sunny skies and ended at 8pm. It was a colourful event and large number of members of the chapter and their families gathered at the stadium. Fun-filled activities were also held.
The tournament was organised by the Social Committee of the chapter for the sixth consecutive year. Ready-mix Qatar, Sadaharith Plantation Limited Sri Lanka, NTB Bank Sri Lanka and Commercial Bank Sri Lanka sponsored the tournament.
