Doha: The Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani broke his leg and had a surgery and now is in the physical therapy phase and is recovering well. This was tweeted by HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani on his personal twitter handle.
Sheikh Joaan "thanked everyone for asking" in his tweet.
A government statement quoted in the media said that incident occurred while the Father Emir was on holiday and the surgery was held in Zurich, Switzerland.

“On Saturday 26 December, His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani was flown to Zurich, Switzerland for emergency treatment after suffering a broken leg while on holiday.”
“Following a successful operation, his Highness the Father Emir is currently in Zurich recovering and undergoing physiotherapy treatment,” the statement said.
The hashtag #????_????_??_?????? was trending on twitter as people from all walks of life were wishing Father Emir well.
