NEW YORK: The St Louis Cardinals rallied with four runs in the eighth inning to defeat the Kansas City Royals 5-3 yesterday and improve their Major League Baseball best record.
The Royals led 3-1 before Carlos Beltran belted a solo home run, David Freese tied the game with a run-scoring single then Daniel Descalso hit a two-run single to give the Cardinals a 5-3 lead.
