Doha: Foreign Minister H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah and Minister of Education and Higher Education and Supreme Education Council (SEC) Secretary-General H E Dr Mohammed Abdul Wahed Ali Al Hammadi met Afghan Minister of Education Dr Assad Hanif Balkhi, who is on a visit to Qatar.
They discussed issues of common concern, especially prospects for enhancing cooperation in development projects between the two countries.
Qatar and Afghanistan also signed a memorandum of understanding in the education field.
It was signed at a meeting held between Dr Al Hammadi and Dr Balkhi in the presence of the latter’s delegation.
Both sides discussed cooperation in the field of education and means of developing it. The MoU deals with cooperation, exchange of expertise, experiences, visits and the best practices in the education sector. Afghan Charge d’Affaires Dr Muhammad Qasim Himmat and SEC officials were present.
