DOHA: Algerian singer Lila Borsali dazzled a big crowd with her Andalusian music at Katara Opera House on Tuesday night.
The concert, organised by Katara, the Algerian Agency for Cultural Influence (AARC) and the Algerian embassy, attracted a significant turnout of fans from different nationalities who interacted with Borsali with overwhelming joy.
Katara General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti and Algerian Ambassador Abdulaziz Saba along with other heads of missions attended.
“We meet today in this cultural edifice rich in human and creative interactions that gets inspiration from every place worldwide to introduce new cultures and bring cultures together,” said Dr Al Sulaiti.
He said Katara is proud to host the concert which shows Algerian culture and heritage and hoped that it would be followed by more Algerian events.
Saba said holding the concert is a culmination of cooperation between the Cultural Village and AARC. “The art presented by Borsali takes us back to the golden age of Arab and Islamic culture,” he added.
Thanking Katara for hosting the event, Borsali said, “I really enjoy being at Katara that has always been a great place to host artistic and musical events.”
