Qatar has long been a prominent force in the equestrian world and its recent announcement of the next equestrian calendar marks a new chapter in its journey to becoming the global hub for the sport. With the launch of the H H The Father Amir Tour, Qatar is set to host its largest-ever series of international equestrian events, reinforcing its growing status as the leading destination for the sport worldwide. The next season, which runs from December 2025 through April 2026, will feature 10 major competitions, including several five-star international showjumping championships, the H H The Amir’s Sword Festival and the Longines Global Champions Tour. The total prize pool for these events is a remarkable €10m, attracting top-tier riders from across the globe to compete in Qatar’s world-class facilities. This new calendar is not only a testament to Qatar’s growing influence in the equestrian world but also a clear indication of the country’s dedication to supporting the sport’s development on a global scale. The €10m prize money further highlights Qatar’s ambition to position itself at the heart of international equestrian competition. Events like the Doha International Equestrian Tour, which has seen tremendous success in recent years, have already set the stage for Qatar’s rise as a leader in the field. Qatar’s equestrian infrastructure, particularly the world class Al Shaqab, plays a pivotal role in the nation’s success. Known for its cutting-edge arenas and world-class amenities, Al Shaqab provides the ideal environment for both competitors and spectators. Beyond infrastructure, Qatar’s vision for sports is embodied in its National Vision 2030, which focuses on sustainable development and strengthening international partnerships. The 2026 equestrian season is a direct result of this strategy, with the packed calendar designed to not only raise Qatar’s profile as a sports capital but also nurture the growth of Qatari riders, giving them opportunities to compete at the highest levels. The 2025 season is still underway with the Qatar Equestrian Tour - Longines Hathab, a series which aims to nurture Qatar’s future international champions. It will continue until May before the busy season culminates. Qatar will then prepare for an unprecedented next season, attracting the best riders and horses from across the globe.
