Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) provides the first point of contact in the healthcare system in Qatar, acting not only as the first point in care but also the principal point for continuity of care for community. With 30 health centers across the country, PHCC provides primary care services including a general practice (where one can be seen by the family physician), vaccinations, optometry, urgent care services and other services. The family physician will provide you essential medical care needed with health education, preventive care services, including routine checkups, immunization, screening tests and depending on the nature of the health condition, you may be referred to a specialist or secondary care services. Experts in family medicine, the team also manage those with multiple or long-term conditions. To register for PHCC services, you need to apply for a health card. You can do this in person at your nearest Primary Health Care Center or online via Hukoomi. The card costs an annual fee of QR100 for expat residents (QR50 for Qatari nationals). To apply for a card, you will need to provide: • passport/valid ID • valid residence permit • 2 passport-size photographs • proof of address (e.g., a recent utility bill or rent contract) • vaccination card (children only) • ID of your sponsor (domestic staff only) Once registered, you can access PHCC services by booking an appointment via the PHCC Naraakom app or by calling 107. You have the option of booking a face to face or a virtual appointment. Alternatively, you can call 16000 for an urgent telephone or video consultation with the physician., during the hours of 7am to 11pm. A nurse led telephone triage service is also available from 11pm to 7am which will signpost patients to appropriate services, such as PHCC 24-hr Urgent Care services, based on their needs. PHCC also provides urgent care services for non-threatening medical conditions requiring immediate attention, such as: minor burns, sprains, severe headache or earache, high fever, dehydration, and dizziness. PHCC provides a walk in 24-hour Urgent Care Service at the following 9 health centers: Rawdat Al Khail, Al Rayyan, Al Kaaban, Al Sheehaniya, Al Ruwais, Muaither, Abu Bakr Al Siddiq, Um Salal and Al Mashaf Health Centers.
