Peslier rides Tabarak to victory

Doha: Jockey O Peslier rode Tabarak to victory in The Emir Sword Race at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) here yesterday.

The A De Mieulle trained horse owned by Umm Qarn picked up the top prize of QR1.14m.

Two of J Smart trained ponies, owned by H H Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani, Rathowan and Mkeefa finished second and third in the QR2,000,000 event.

For Jockey Peslier this was his fourth win of the season having finished second and third in two other races.

For Peslier the biggest challenge came from jockey C P Lemaire, who rode Rathowan to a place behind the leader, while jockey B Doyle riding on Mkeefa had to be contend with the third place.

Lemaire’s finish yesterday was the first one of the season in the second place. He already has three third–place positions this season and one race win.

For Doyle it was the third time this season he came third, he already has one win this season.

The second place winner pocketed QR44,0000, while the third place winner got QR22,0000.
