Suhaim Hamad Al Yafei and Salma Mohamed Kamhawi topped the Future Riders classes on the first day as the 13th round of the Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour got off to an exciting start at Al Shaqab. Al Yafei and 12-year-old Fahy T J won the Future Riders 80cm event in 80.01 secs without making any faults, ahead of Sharida Nasser Al Kaabi (Golden Grove Solataire) who was just 0.02 secs slower than him. Al Kaabi came second while Amer Hamad Al Mansoori, astride Vegas De Ray, came third in 80.47 secs.
Later, in the 90cm class, Cantaro, with Kamhawi in the saddle, secured the win in 79.75 secs. Saoud Ahmed Al Boinin and his 10-year-old gelding Diademe De B'Neville came second in 80.43 secs, followed by Abdulla Saleh Al Obaidly and Orchid's Fjodor who finished third in 79.56 secs.
