DOHA: The weather bureau has forecast a foggy weather this morning and said visibility will be poor due to the fog at places.
Due to the fog at places early in the morning visibility could be as low as less than 1km, gradually improving to three to 8km as the day advances.
The weather will first be misty and then foggy at places and then as the day breaks, the mist and fog will clear.
The day will be partly cloudy to cloudy at places with chances of scattered rains by the evening. The bureau didn’t specify the places that could witness scattered showers but normally it is the northern areas that witness such precipitation.
Offshore, there are chances of scattered rains in the north. The weather will be cloudy in the seas.
The seas wouldn’t be much wavy near the shore but deep in the waves could jump up to four to six feet high, particularly in the north, according to the weather bureau.
It didn’t issue any warning or offshore for today.
It wouldn’t be a windy day today. Southeasterly to southerly wind will be moving at between five and 15 knots an hour inland, while offshore, southwesterly wind will move at speeds of six to 16 knots an hour at times at places.
The wind speed could even reach 20 knots an hour, particularly in the north, said the bureau.
The day would likely be relatively hotter today as the maximum temperatures forecast is between 23 and 27 degrees Celsius.
In Doha, the nightly temperature expected today is 17 degrees C, while it will be 13 degrees C in Al Khor, which is some 40 km north of Doha.
In Messaieed, Al Wakrah, Al Ruwais and Abu Samra, on Qatar-Saudi Arabia border, the minimum temperature forecast is 14 degrees C.
Doha will witness peak day temperature of 25 degrees C, while in Dukhan the day temperature expected is 23 degrees C.
In Abu Samra, the day will be hotter with 27 degrees C. Elsewhere in the country the maximum temperature forecast is 24 degrees C, said the bureau in routine forecast for today.
The sunrise time has been given at 6.2 am while sunset will be at 5pm.
