Doha: High And Wide, owned by Yousuf Bakhit Al Kuwari, clinched the Fuwairit Cup after a thrilling contest in feature race on Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club’s (QREC) 39th Race Meeting at Al Rayyan Racecourse yesterday.
Ridden by Tomas Lukasek, the Hadi Al Ramzani-trained four-year-old outpaced Lauded by a short head to win the 1100m Handicap (75-95) for 3YO+ for his third straight victory. It was third title of the day for trainer Al Ramzani.

Also yesterday, jockey Jefferson Smith had his third victory when he rode Cynical, in the colours of Nasser Owaida Salem Al Hajri, to deny Ana Hadi by a head in the last stride and win the 1100m Handicap (0-80) for 3YO Thoroughbreds for trainer Owaida Salem Al Hajri.
In the 1900m Handicap (0-85) for 4YO+ Purebred Arabians, Faisal Mohammed Al Naeimi’s Chrome was a comfortable two-length winner, completing a treble for jockey Soufiane Saadi on the day.
