Doha: As part of its continuous efforts to develop the roads in the area surrounding Al Duhail military camp, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has converted Leabaib Roundabout (previously known as Radar Roundabout) to a signal-controlled intersection.
The intersection partially opens this  morning and vehicles can pass through all directions except west towards Al Shamal Road due to deep excavations related to the construction of sewer lines and manholes.
The remaining closed lane is expected to open within three months.
Throughout this period, road users are required to head north, take a U-turn at the next intersection to return to Leabaib Intersection and then turn right as shown in the map above.
The project also includes converting Jaryan Njeimah Roundabout, located adjacent to North Atlantic College to a signal-controlled intersection.
Work on this roundabout is under way and the roundabout is expected to open to traffic in the first half of February. The Peninsula
