DOHA: The Primary Health Care Corporation’s (PHCC) Oral Health Department held a workshop for dentists as part of its continuous professional training efforts.

The one-day workshop was the ninth on continuous professional training, attended by a large number of dentists.
The first part of the workshop focused on related medico-legal matters. Dr Mobin, Manager, Licensing and Credentialing, gave a presentation on  new licensing requirements and the areas where staff need to focus to obtain and hold their licence.
It was followed by a presentation on legal matters by Ibrahim Ali Ibrahim, Legal Director. It covered informed consent, medical liability and prosecution aspects for consideration of PHCC staff at the oral health and dental departments.
The second part looked at referral pathways between PHCC and Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC). Two consultants from HMC’s Dental Department highlighted the new referral protocols and processes between both entities.
The session provided insight into practical issues faced regularly within the dental clinical settings within PHCC, mainly in orthodontics and paediatric dentistry disciplines.
Dr Asmaa Al Khateeb, Head, Oral and Dental Department, PHCC, said, “we are working with the Training Workforce Department to organise events and workshops with concerned institutions and parties to enable our employees to be informed about everything new in this regard.
“There will be a scientific activity with these workshops, as part of our plan to build ongoing and continuous relationships with all academic institutions in Qatar,” Dr Al Khateeb added. The Peninsula
