Ezdan Hotels backed Ooredoo Marathon

Doha: Ezdan Hotels Company, a subsidiary of Ezdan Holding Group, participated in the sponsorship of the 2016 Ooredoo Marathon in its fourth edition.  The competition began at 6.30am on January 8, in which thousands of runners of various ages and in different categories took part. 
All support was provided to 3,000 participants to encourage the community to embrace an active and healthy lifestyle.
The proceeds of the event will be allocated to local charities in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, which represent the first beneficiary of this marathon.
The marathon comprised 10km, 5km, and child-friendly 1km races. 
Hasib Kayali, General Manager, Ezdan Hotels Group, that the group is always looking forward to supporting initiatives that promote healthy society.
Kayali said  Ezdan Hotels, in cooperation with Ooredoo, sponsored the event which stemmed from the group’s commitment to motivate a larger number of people to participate. 
Ezdan Hotels is proud to undertake social responsibility towards the community within the framework of its commitment to the state’s vision for providing support to the world of sport.
Last year, Ezdan Hotels Company provided extensive support for significant regional and international sports tournaments and competitions. It hosted participating delegations of the AIBA World Boxing Championship in Doha 2015, which gathered about 260 boxers from 70 countries.  The hotel provided up to 150 rooms equipped with latest technological devices specifically designed to accommodate guests with disabilities, in a first-of-its-kind move in the field of hotel services and hospitality in Qatar and the Middle East. It hosted more than 1,155 people from 45 countries taking part in the 12th World Robot Olympiad, one of the major youth robotics competitions in the world.
