Doha: Ooredoo has launched a special Field Force Automation (FFA) system to make the process of installation faster and easier for customers in Qatar, it was announced yesterday.
With the new FFA system, as soon as an installation date is booked, the customer’s details are uploaded on a special mobile app, along with GPS coordinates for the address.
This enables technicians to immediately know the order details, location and appointment time for new installations, and find the location via GPS.
The FFA app will also send customers an automatic SMS with the appointment time, following on from the standard appointment date SMS they get when they make a booking, so that they know when to expect technicians, saving time and making the process smoother and more efficient.
The FFA solution enables Ooredoo’s installation team to track and monitor the process from start to finish, ensuring all necessary equipment is available at the warehouse, the appointment is logged with Ooredoo and any problems or need for repeat visits are recorded to enable a faster follow-up.
Yousuf Abdulla Al Kubaisi, Chief Operating Officer, Ooredoo, said: “Ooredoo is a major supporter of smart solutions for businesses and this is a great example of the company deploying cutting-edge technology internally to enable us to better serve our customers.
“The FFA system has been designed to automate the whole installation process and ensure our customers get the service they require in a timely manner.”
The first team to deploy the new solution as a pilot will be the Fibre Roll-Out team, in response to the huge demand for fibre installations in Qatar. If successful, Ooredoo will equip all technicians with technology to use the FFA solution.
The FFA system is set to provide better scheduling, faster appointments and other benefits for customers.
The app has been designed based on customer feedback on the installation process, and recommendations to enhance the process.
Home users and business customers can access Ooredoo’s fastest Internet speeds – the 100Mbps plan –for QR650 per month, with basic fibre packages starting at QR233 for home broadband and voice services.
Ooredoo’s investment in fibre will continue throughout the year as part of its expansion of the Supernet network in Qatar. Details of all plans, pricing and offers are available at www.ooredoo.qa/fibre along with the fibre availability map.
