DOHA: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced a temporary closure of a 2km road west of Al Rayyan Sports Club from early morning tomorrow. The road is part of the west-bound lane of Dukhan Highway leading from Doha to Dukhan City. The closure will last six months.
Traffic on the closed section of the highway will be diverted to the opposite side of the road (east-bound lane) leading to Doha city, which was divided to contain directions (to and from Doha City), with two lanes in each direction.
The diversion will not have a big impact on traffic as it was in place and has been extended in length. It is for construction of the bridges which intersect with the highway on the New Orbital Highway and Truck Route project.
