DOHA: Cultural Village Foundation - Katara and the Qatar Lawyers Association (QLA) yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to raise legal awareness in Qatari society.
The MoU was signed in line with Katara’s mission to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030.
Katara has made strides across various fields related to providing knowledge to future generations by holding cultural events, law programmes, training sessions and seminars, among others.
Katara General Manager Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti stressed the importance of the collaboration between Katara and QLA and its positive impact on reinforcing progress and development along a series of fronts in the country.
“The MoU is a result of Katara striving to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030 which is based on providing knowledge to Qatar’s future generations and meeting society’s need for a universally sound legal culture.
“It also aims to educate citizens, enabling them to properly resolve any legal matters encountered. Serving the community is a key priority of Katara,” said Dr Al Sulaiti.
Katara remains focused on offering benefits to citizens and its mission aims to cooperate with major civil society institutions in Qatar such as QLA.
“We are pleased with the partnership we have formed with Katara which allows us to spread the culture of law among all segments of Qatari society to enable every person to fully understand their rights and duties.
“The QLA is more than satisfied with Katara for helping provide such a distinctively prestigious cultural climate which increasingly contributes to the country’s legal awareness,” said QLA Chairman Rashid bin Nasser Al Nuaimi.
