Doha: The Qatar 2015 Organising Committee has launched a“Cheer for Qatar”campaign,which aims to encouragethe community to showtheir support forthe national team during the 24th Men’s Handball World Championship starting in January through launching a contest on Qatar 2015 website.
The online campaign will run until December 31 and encourages people to get together and perform a special cheer specially preparedby the Qatar 2015 Organising Committee and performed by artist Fahad Al Hajajifor the Qatar National Team to express their support to the team.
To motivate the people to participate, Sheikha Asmaa Al Thani, Head of Marketing Section, Qatar 2015 Organising Committee said: “On Qatar National Day, we show our pride in our country, and our ‘Cheer for Qatar’ campaign provides an ideal way for everyone to express their support for our National team on the National day. The 24th Men’s Handball World Championship is happening in less than 30 days.We hope the campaign will push our team to give their very best during the tournament.”
People can participate in the Cheer Contest by uploading videos of them performing the cheer. They can then invite their friends to vote for their entry.
A committee from Qatar 2015 will also be organized to vote and the top ten video entries with the most votes will be eligible for a lucky draw, which gives entrants a chance to win an iPhone6.

The 24th Men’s Handball World Championship will take place in Doha from January 15 to February 1, 2015. With the participation of 24 countries from all over the world, the biennial Men’s Handball World Championship is the biggest and one of the most important international events in Olympic sport.

Spectators from all over the world can buy their tickets for the opening ceremony and for the first opening match between Qatar and Brazil, which will take place at the brand new Lusail Multi-Purpose Hall.
