Doha: Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi yesterday dominated the proceedings in the Medium Tour contest at the fifth round of the Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour, winning both first and second spots in the feature event of the day.

At the Qatar Equestrian Federation’s Indoor Arena, Al Qadi guided his 14-year-old stallion Morocco to an impressive victory in the QR30,000 event, and then followed up with another brilliant routine astride Lekhwiya-owned bay gelding S I E C Lonnie to book the second spot on the podium.

Al Qadi scored 75 points following his ride with Morocco, and clocked a time of 50.16 secs to win the top prize of the day. He then followed up with another classy ride, this time with S I E C Lonnie, as he collected 75 while completing the routine in 50.83 seconds, almost a second faster than third placed Faleh Suwead Al Ajami who was astride Ambre De Beaufour

Al Ajami and his 12-year-old bay mare also scored 75 points, but spent 51.79 seconds to complete the task.

Meanwhile, a collective effort of Al Ajami (Ambre De Beaufour), Al Qadi (Jazly) and Hussain Saeed Haidan (Viahipi D'auzay) led Team ExxonMobil to top the timesheets in the Medium Tour Team event while Alfardan and Al Shaqab booked the second and third spots respectively.

Earlier, Sultan Salem Al Naemi, astride 10-year-old bay mare Higgs, won the Small Tour class. Mohammed Nasser Al Qadi (Galwaybay Merbreaker) was second while Mohammed Dhafi Al Marri (Sandro Girl) completed the podium. Al Naemi also won the Young Riders category while Mohammed Yousef Al Jaber and Haya Khalid Al Hitmi finished second and third respectively.

QEF President Bader Mohammed Al Darwish, ExxonMobil Asset Manager Mohammed Al Shareef and QEF Board Member Amer Mohammed Al Hemaidi presented the trophies to the podium winners.
