Doha: Jassim Mohamed Al Darwish’s Legend Of Xanadu with Alberto Sanna in the saddle clinched the Ain Khaled Cup win during Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club’s 36th Race Meeting at Al Rayyan Racecourse yesterday.
In 1200m open race for 3YO Thoroughbreds, the Mohammed Ghazali-trained colt stormed to a length win to claim the feature.
Also yesterday, Al Rufaa Racing’s Ateej won the Handicap (75-95) for 4YO+ Purebred Arabians for trainer Gassim Ghazali. Under jockey Anas Al Seyabi, the 10-year-old veteran proved the fastest in the field as he took 1200m contest by two lengths clear.

Meawnhole, Al Jeryan Stud’s homebred AJS Al Mared secured the 1750m Handicap (70-90) for 4YO+ Local Purebred Arabians win. In the final 250m, the MHK Al Attiyah-trained 6YO, ridden by Szczepan Mazur, made his way to take the lead and record a length-victory.
The next race meeting tomorrow is the 17th and last race meeting at Al Uqda this season with action set to start at 1:30pm.
