Doha: Now in its seventh year, Diyafa has become a cornerstone of Qatar’s hospitality industry. The unique show combines cutting-edge products with delightful entertainment to deliver a boutique hospitality industry tradeshow that rivals the best in the GCC. It aims to capitalise on Qatar’s burgeoning hospitality industry attracting this niche market’s finest hoteliers and restaurateurs in Doha, Qatar.
Along with its landmark hospitality exhibition, Diyafa 2012 will also feature a conference programme – The Spa Concept. Curated by world-renowned Spa Consultant, Raquel Calleja, the conference will feature leading figures providing their views on topics critical to the design, development, and deployment of spas in general, as well as their products and services.
Calleja points to the substantial increase in the number of spas on offer in Qatar as proof of a growing trend: “Many business owners have decided to establish spas recently. If you combine existing spas at hotels with urban spas, and factor in the potential of many more being established in coming years, it becomes clear that this is a very lucrative industry to be in. However, what spas have failed to do is localize their offerings or to establish a minimum standard of expertise and services- the Spa Concept Conference is designed to tackle these issues, and to illustrate how a spa business should operate.”
Another interactive feature being highlighted by organizers as a ‘game changer” is the Qatar Choice Awards – a public choice platform on which the hospitality industry’s favorite service providers are nominated, voted upon, and awarded 100% by the public. Voting has already begun on www.qatarchoiceawards.com hitting over 6000 votes to date, organizers believe the gala dinner on October 17 at the Al Gassar Ballroom will be an affair to remember- commemorating Qatar’s first ever public choice awards.
