Doha: More than 1,000 business leaders will gather at the Grand Hyatt Doha on October 3 for one of the region’s biggest business networking events.
Now in its eighth year, Back2Business 2012 will see the participation of seven major business councils operating in Qatar, including the Australia-New Zealand (ANZBIQ), British (QBBF), Dutch (DBCQ), German (GBCQ), Italian (IBCQ), Scandinavian (SBCQ) and Spanish (SBC) business councils.
The business councils are associations that support bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and their respective countries. Each year, two different councils are selected to be the main organisers of the Back2Business event. This year, Katherine McAdam (ANZBIQ) and Jane Ashford of the QBBF have been chosen to head the organising committee.
Launched in 2004 by the German Business Council, “Back 2 Business Qatar” is expected to open doors to major opportunities in both local and international businesses as Qatar is poised to continue on its path of economic growth.[here, we deleted the last sentence]
“Back2Business has become the premier business networking event in Qatar and this year we anticipate that nearly 1,000 people will attend,” said Katherine McAdam. “The event has grown in size each year and this illustrates the real value this event brings to the business community in Qatar and its ability to bring people together to make real, strategic connections.” Proceeds from the 2012 event will go the Qatar Red Crescent.
For the third year running, IBQ is Back2Business’ Diamond Sponsor and Vodafone is the Strategic Sponsor providing support with online registration and the popular Back2Business magazine.
Muhannad Kamal, General Manager of IBQ said: “The 8th edition of Back2Business is a strong testament to the event’s expanding success year on year. It has certainly become one of the most significant networking platforms in Qatar bringing together high-level representatives of the private and public sector and fostering a culture of productive dialogue between cross-industry leaders. As one of the most prominent financial institutions in Qatar, we, at IBQ, firmly believe in our duty to support the growth and development of such events owing to its contribution to the local business community. Therefore, we’re very pleased to see Back2Business moving continuously forward and garnering immense interest.”
“Vodafone Qatar is delighted to partner with Back2Business for the second year” said Niraj Singh, Director of Enterprise Business Unit at Vodafone Qatar. Vodafone offers an innovative set of Telecom products and services for individuals as well as for Businesses. “We have recently launched Business Postpaid and are excited to introduce it to the Back 2 Business audience”, continued Niraj.
