The attempts of siege countries have failed completely to discourage the State of Qatar from achieving consecutive success at all global fields. By the end of major regional or international events, we see Qatar’s name flying high, leaving its fingerprint on different event.
The policy of Qatar, which annoyed some parties, is still has strong visibility in international resolutions embarrassing its foes with its positive stances during global crises, particularly those associated with disasters and destruction affecting living conditions of people regardless their whereabouts.
The visit of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to a number of Latin American States is another proof of Qatar’s farsighted future vision and its keenness to enhance its international ties more than before. Perhaps some may think that Qatar’s foreign relations have shrunk because of the siege but the achievements on the ground can respond to them. Things need to be seen objectively and from the broad national interest point of view and not by resorting to rhetoric.
The region is heading towards major challenges without limiting to desires of some actors, as we said the future of the region is in the hands of its people.
We never beg siege countries to lift their siege and we can stay forever as has been stated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdurrahman Al Thani. On his response to Saudi Foreign Minister Al Jubeer who said “the crisis with Qatar could continue for tens of years”, Sheikh Mohamed responded; Qatar can stay in this situation forever, and we never pay attention to such hostile statements but to the future of the region.
The consecutive successes by Qatar have not been achieved from vacuum but they are outcome of a clear vision and well planned strategy and outlined goals under the wise leadership of H H the Amir. Qatar is depending on its own potentials in everything, and has freed itself from many political courtesies of the GCC, which was restricting its global movements. Qatar has established its position in international forums, thanks to the creativities and capabilities of its efficient youths.
Qatar today is a number which cannot be exceeded and no one in Qatar thinking about the situation before June 5, because the siege now is a matter of forgotten past and the county is moving forward with optimism, tolerance, dedication and loyalty of the people and leadership of Qatar.
